KOSTAL Hackathon 2026: Young Talents Put Their Skills to the Test

Hands-on challenges, creative solutions and teamwork at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences

For the third time, KOSTAL organized a hackathon at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences. Twelve students from computer science and other disciplines demonstrated their technical skills, creativity and team spirit.

Eight Hours, One Challenge

The task: Within eight hours, participants had to work in teams to program a robotic car using Python. The goal was to navigate a predefined course as quickly and accurately as possible. Success required not only programming skills but also innovative ideas for making intelligent use of the available sensors.

Beyond the technical challenge, the hackathon gave students the opportunity to gain practical experience and apply their skills in a realistic setting. Attractive prizes awaited the participants in recognition of their achievements.

Exploring Technology and Career Opportunities

The event was organized and hosted by KOSTAL's Embedded Software Development team. Participants gained insights into practical applications of KOSTAL technology.

The hackathon also provided an opportunity to connect with KOSTAL employees, exchange ideas and learn more about potential career opportunities.

A Successful Event with a Promising Future

The Hackathon 2026 once again demonstrated how technological challenges, creative thinking and the development of young talent can go hand in hand.

KOSTAL looks forward to inspiring the next generation of talent with innovative technologies again in 2027.
